New York City, Chicago and Boston are among the sanctuary cities collapsing after waves of migrants stormed across the open borders. Even cities that once boasted of providing sanctuary to illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement are now running away from the name.
Sanctuary cities were always intended to be destructive. They were not, as many Democrats now wrongly claim, about providing safe harbor to refugees, but about bringing down America.
The sanctuary cities did not emerge in response to the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide or any actual genocide, but to provide support and sanctuary for Marxists fleeing the civil wars they had started in Latin America, and then later for Islamic terrorists after September 11.
Sanctuary cities were not about helping refugees, but about harboring America’s enemies.
The sanctuary city movement emerged in the first years of the Reagan administration as Quakers, Catholic Liberation Theology and other leftist churches allied with the Soviet bloc intervened to protect leftist radicals fleeing El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua from deportation. That’s why the original announcement of the sanctuary movement was timed to the anniversary of the killing of Archbishop Oscar Romero, an El Salvadoran leftist activist whose death was used to campaign against U.S. aid to the country’s anti-Communist government.
The leftist churches did not offer to defy the law for all refugees, but focused specifically on the Reagan administration’s policy of deporting refugees from “El Salvador and Guatemala” as “illegal and immoral”. Their real complaint was that the Reagan administration was taking in the ‘wrong sort’ of refugees from Communist countries, instead of those from south of the border who were fleeing government crackdowns on Marxist revolutionary movements.
The sanctuary city movement described Reagan’s policy of deporting Latin American Marxist revolutionaries as “illegal” because the administration continued to favor refugees from Communist countries. Carter’s 1980 Refugee Act, which opened the door to the current border crisis, had been meant to shift the flow of refugees away from Communist countries by putting the UN in charge of defining who a refugee was. And that definition would favor leftists.
The larger agenda had less to do with refugees and more to do with aiding Marxist revolutions.
“I am looking for a confrontation,” Jack Elder, the activist who headed up Casa Oscar Romero, named after the archbishop, admitted. “There’s a moral force behind what we’re doing that has the potential to focus some light on foreign policy… There are bombing raids financed by the U.S. government.”
The sanctuary movement was smuggling migrants and then publicly announcing it to undermine the Reagan administration’s foreign policy and challenge American opposition to Communism.
At the Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson, one of the founding places of the sanctuary movement, Rev. John Fife, who would later be arrested and convicted, had put up a sign reading “This is a sanctuary for the oppressed from Central America”. Key figures in the sanctuary city movement did not just harbor illegal aliens, they helped them cross the border, leading to deliberate confrontations with the government that allowed them to play martyrs.
Even though the sanctuary movement had been initially cloaked in the religious guise of misplaced scripture and radical churches, the next stage depended on recruiting radical and not especially religious cities to create zones where immigration law would not apply. And radicals and migrants from south of the border then headed to those cities to overrun America.
When San Francisco announced that it would become the first sanctuary city, it did not open itself to all the refugees in the world, but focused on those coming from Central America.
The sanctuary city movement was meant to create a crisis that would force the Reagan administration to stop supporting anti-Communist movements south of the border by bringing the chaos and violence to the United States. This was in keeping with what had become the larger leftist mission to “bring the war home” in order to forcibly alter American foreign policy.
Much as the ‘Weathermen’ and their radical successors had carried out bombings to bring the Vietnam War home to Americans, the sanctuary city movement sought to bring the civil war in El Salvador to this country in order to dissuade Americans from fighting against Communism.
A year after the sanctuary city movement was announced, the number of illegal aliens rose 40% and hit 1.4 million by the end of 1983. Crime rates rose alongside the migrant invasion.
The sanctuary city movement led to the first manufactured border crisis. By acting as ‘magnets’ for migrants, sanctuary cities attracted large numbers of illegal aliens leading to the 1986 amnesty and eventually to the demographic shift of California to a Democrat majority state.
The number of illegals rose from 3 million before amnesty into the tens of millions.
The second wave of the sanctuary city movement occurred after 9/11. The end of the Reagan administration and some of the Central American civil wars had dampened interest in the movement, but the impetus for the second sanctuary wave, just as it had been for the original movement, was protecting an anti-American terrorist force by abrogating U.S. law.
The sanctuary city movement had been born as a protest movement against the Reagan administration and the second wave arose in response to a new popular Republican White House. The Bush administration’s crackdown on Islamic terrorism radicalized leftists in the early oughts the way that Reagan’s war against Marxist guerrillas had their radical forebears.
In Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left, David Horowitz’s crucial expose of the red-green alliance, he described how the passage of the Patriot Act ushered in the next wave of the anti-American movement to cripple the country’s response to Islamic terrorism.
“As of June 2004, 320 cities, towns, and counties, as well as four states had adopted resolutions condemning the Patriot Act, many refusing to cooperate with Homeland Security officials in the enforcement of its security measures,” Horowitz wrote.
Horowitz described how the model for the second wave of sanctuary city resolutions came from radical leftists at the “ACLU, the National Lawyers Guild, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, and People for the American Way” who had been set up to protect Communist organizations under the guise of defending civil rights.
Veterans of the leftist domestic terrorist movements rushed to equate Marxist terrorists with the emerging Jihadists. Bernardine Dohrn of the Weathermen argued that “Prosecutions are underway that are reminiscent of the indictments of the early-fifties McCarthy period and the conspiracy indictments of the early seventies preWatergate Mitchell Department of Justice, the two most recent periods of overtly political repression. For example, John Ashcroft has orchestrated a series of high profile indictments against Islamic charities, including the Holy Land Foundation in Texas.” The Holy Land Foundation had been fundraising for Hamas.
Dohrn’s argument prefigured the formal leftist embrace of Hamas after October 7.
The sanctuary city movement was then revived with a third wave in the first Trump administration to protect illegal aliens and arrivals from Islamic terrorist states. The infrastructure that had been put into place during the original sanctuary city movement was mobilized to unite cities, states, universities and religious groups around lawsuits challenging the Muslim travel ban. And the third wave also brought together the two previous waves: protecting illegal migration from Central America and defending the activities of Islamic terrorist groups.
President Trump’s second term will be the ultimate test of the sanctuary city movement. Its defenders claim that they are only protecting refugees, women and children, but the real story is that it is a movement at war with America that came into existence to aid our enemies.
The sanctuary city movement was always anti-American. Its core motivations were countering America’s defense against Communism and Islamism. It rejected U.S. law, not just because it thought any one part of it was wrong, but because it rejected the existence of America.

I would just add, early on the Sanctuary Cities idea was a way of disobeying the Federal Government, and when it worked for a few it caught on with more and more cities. I think it was also a way of defying the laws against Pot.

The Romeike family sought asylum, but were finally denied & deported
The same Obama administration that proactively flew 10s of 1,000s of asylum seekers from Syria, decided one family from Germany wasn’t welcome.
The same AG Eric Holder who deemed ALL islamic Syrians be admitted at face value (Christian Syrians specifically denied) was obsessed with ridding this country of this one family (the one family that was guaranteed never to commit jihad).
The Romeikes were brimming over with several moral qualities (spoke English, highly educated, employed, etc, etc), yet, Eric Holder thought otherwise.
Syrian asylum seekers were shipped in at $67,000 per head. The islamists arrived here unwilling to assimilate (something Obama admired most).

Leftists are suing to keep all children of illegal aliens here, except the Romeikes who had two children born here. (Perhaps because they entered legally.)

THE SANCTUARY MOVEMENT first started here in NM with Gov. Toney Anaya declaring The First Sanctuary State in 1986. I spoke to him about the Communist angle in NM, and the NM Peace Council/U.S. Peace Council, aiding the Communist FMLN in El Salvador, a country he was focusing on since he too wanted its violent overthrow. He didn’t care and he declared it at a packed house at the UNM Law School.
I spoke to President Alfredo Cristiani of El Salvador on the Larry King talk show and informed him of the Communist fronts raising aid and money to overthrow his government. The main front, CISPES, headed by Farid Handel whose brother, Shafik, being the leader of the FMLN and head of the Communist Party. “If there were El Salvadorians raising aid and money to overthrow our government, we would go after them!” The next week, he imposed a travel ban on all Americans entering the rebel Zones of Control!
I also spoke to Oscar Arias, who only focused on stopping Government-sponsored military forces and he did nothing to these American Communists who were aiding Communist rebels in El Salvador and Guatemala. He said they were “insignificant.”

“THE SANCTUARY TRIAL” here in Albuquerque, 1988 (?) with two defendants, a Rev. who bought his collar at Walmart and a poet whose father headed the local Community College who hired only far-left radicals… LIKE MARK RUDD! Their college newspaper read like People’s World by the CPUSA! The defense brought in International Experts on Sanctuary. The incompetent Government, who I wanted to help with all my research on these groups and didn’t, used the Law, which was perfect, but they used sympathy. Both were acquitted even breaking so many laws of hiring coyotes to bring in two El Salvadorean women. In their testimony as prosecution witnesses, they revealed that the PEACEMAKERS were using them LIKE SLAVES using them as MAIDS, GARDENERS, NANNIES, AND PASSING THEM AROUND TO WHOEVER NEEDED THEM. “WELCOME TO THE ESTADOS UNIDOS… YOU ARE FREE AT LAST… GOD ALMIGHTY… FREE AT LAST!”

Thomas Homan is not qualified to occupy the position, to which President Trump has appointed him.
Homan asserts that mayors and governors who support and implement sanctuary cities, have committed a felony crime, and, should be so prosecuted. This is false.
When you and I violate the law, we have committee a misdemeanor or felony crime. When a member of government wantonly and defiantly violates the law or the Constitution, they have committed two acts of treason. 18USC2381 prescribes execution for a treason conviction.
Homan’s assertion of felony offense protects these governors and mayors. Why is he protecting them? What is his motive in doing so?
President Trump should replace Homan with a person who possesses the moral strength and the moral courage to properly and effectively and justly punish these people.

2: Governors and mayors, who have committed these acts of treason by violating and openly defying federal law, through their assertion of collectivist unearned moral superiority, assume responsibility for the murders of innocent Americans (children, men, women, elderly) committed by the illegals whom they protect and empower, and, they assume responsibility for the violence committed against innocent Americans by these persons. Their acts of treason resulted in these murders and these acts of violence. I contend that not one single living family member of a murdered loved one, by an illegal, would argue against imposing the maximum federal sentence against these governors and mayors who have established and promoted the conditions for this barbarity to exist.
3: It’s not enough that the sanctuary city mayors and governors openly mock the laws that they swore an oath to uphold, defend, and obey. In doing so, their betrayal mocks Americans whom their actions have harmed. Their betrayal mocks Americans who live in fear. Their actions do not protect Americans. They threaten Americans.
This is neither governance nor civility. This is totalitarianism and tyranny masquerading as moral superiority. “You are just a citizen. Keep your mouth shut.”
The lawful prescribed punishment is just, in that it fits the crimes of treason and the betrayal of Americans and the resultant deterioration of the structures of civilization.
4: This is not a sports game whereby if you make a mistake on the play, you might lose the game and the trophy. This is not a movie or a television show whereby if you make a mistake in acting or directing, you lose an academy award. What is the value of an oath? In the case of these mayors and governors, their oaths are empty, hollow, and meaningless. They are worthless. Laws for thee, but, not for me is their assumed motto. The consequence their valueless oath is dead Americans, and, Americans who live in fear.

A violation of Constitutional law is NOT the Constitutional definition of treason.
Mr. Greenfield rightly exposes the complicity of the American church in its embrace of progressive ideology. The church stood against progressivism for many years while the institutions crumbled.
There can be no total victory in this country without the destruction of the church, which is a kind of Helm’s Deep in the U.S. Now that Satan has successfully captured much of our institutions and culture, the assault upon the church can be waged with greater likelihood of success.
Church membership has declined for a few generations, so most churches have financial problems. Enter the vast sums of cash coming from NGO’s to those churches who provide assistance in the form of housing, goods and services to migrants! No more must the church depend upon the diminishing pool of elderly widows to write big checks. Pastors can justify taking money from organizations in the Open Societies and WEF deriviatives by eisegeting Scripture about who is my “neighbor” and what is meant by the “love” of neighbor.
The idea of sanctuary probably has its basis in the O.T. cities of refuge which prevented the manslayer (unintentional homocide) from being killed by the avenger of blood – the close relatives of the slain. That law had its limitations and was never intended to provide an escape from justice. It was meant to protect the accused and is a cornerstone of western law.
As it is applied now in the church, it is based upon the NEGLECT of one’s neighbor in favor of the stranger (whether imported and distant), and a disordered love which favors the stranger over the members of one’s own household.
The modern church has, in addition to advancing a wrong idea of the meaning of “love of neighbor,” used the Imago Dei (image of God) to advance acceptance of Marxist / leftist principles.
The image of God in Scripture justifies the application of capital punishment to murder (Genesis 9:6). It justifies the principle of legal equality before and under the law. It justifies the individual worth of every human being before the LORD. But it NEVER justifies equality of opportunity or outcome. It is never used to erase the reality of distinct nations, races and cultures.
Apostate leftist churches of all denominations are anti-American and pro-Communist. They are the largest NGOs to bring in and harbor illegals. They have no respect for the law except to use the legal process against the laws of the land and it’s citizens.

Several of our Federal Agencies and Governors have acted in open rebellion against our Nation. This rebellion against our Constitution, Federal and State Laws has persisted unanswered for decades.

The rebellion consists of breaching our National Security by aiding and abetting invading hordes of criminals from around the world. These unvetted agents of our destruction bring murder, rape, weapons and poison, illness and worse.

The Civil War ended long ago. The Letter, Intent and Context of our 14th Amendment was concluded shortly thereafter by patriating the children of former African slaves. Additionally, the 14th protects American Citizens against the liabilities of rebellion.
The rebellion by Public Servants directly violates our 14th Amendment and our USCode 18. Their conspiracy to demoralize and subordinate American Citizens is hereby ended.
We demand ejection of ALL foreign Nationals illegally present in our Nation.
We demand termination of all “birthright” misapplications.
We demand prosecution of Public Servants in rebellion.
We demand concise affirmation by our Supreme Court.
Yeah, the 14th Amendment (1868) was about issues related to the Civil War(1861-1865), nothing to do with Birthright Citizenship.

Had no idea that sanctuary cities crap began during Prez Reagan. Too bad he didn’t ‘trust & verify’ re: the amnesty for illegals. The insidious Dems fooled him big time.
Arrived legally from Zurich in September 1982. From 1984 on worked for a Swiss global corp in defense & aerospace & knew by 1986 that Prez Reagan gutsy policy ‘we win, they loose’ will knock down the evil Red Empire. Didn’t expect it so soon. Having worked back then ~70h/week, had no idea about the L-radicals claiming refugee/asylum here. It shows how cowardly are the RINOs that till now, nothing had been done about it. Have always detested the catholic charities & other protestant churches for milking the tax payer on behalf of the illegals. Have read this week the c. charities were getting ~2 billion $$ per annum. The corrupt & greedy US bishops are whining. Let’s hope this grift is over.
ALL SANCTUARY VENUES SHUT DOWN OVERNIGHT!
The only thing necessary to shut down all sanctuary states, cities, and churches overnight is to make everyone responsible for harboring criminals complicit in their crimes and, thus, subject to the same civil judgments, both capital and non-capital alike.
This is especially potent when applying biblical judgements to said crimes.
Under a biblical government, convicted capital criminals are put to death immediately following conviction, per Ecclesiastes 8:11, etc.
Non-capital criminals are required to pay two to five times restitution (depending upon the nature of their crime) to their victims, per Exodus 22:1-4, etc. If a thief is unable to pay the required restitution, he’s to be sold into indentured servitude until his debt is paid.
If he refuses to pay restitution, his contempt of court becomes a capital crime per Deuteronomy 17:9-13, for which he’s to be put to death expeditiously. Unless a thief has a death wish, he’ll pay restitution.
Perfect, just as King David depicted it in Psalm 19:7-11.
Under such as system, crime would be all but unheard of, and there would no need for tax-paid-for prisons, from which criminals are typically put back on the streets to continue their crime sprees.

I think Ted Weiland has a point. Biblically, prisons are only for holding the accused until trial. The case is then adjudicated, sentence applied, then case closed. This system saves the taxpayers untold expense, makes the community safer and criminals scarcer. Logically, Biblical law works best applied accordingly, as our original founding fathers discovered back in the 1640’s, also known as The Fundamental Laws of New Haven (Connecticut) 1639. Specifically, “the leading men of New Haven formally adopted the Bible as the constitution of the State….” [from History of the United States, American Book Company, Vol 1, p. 181, 1874]
Time to return to our roots and root out the unfathomable corruption as a consequence of the god We The People. All governments are theo-centric. The only question is, “whose god?” The God of the Bible and His laws, or man’s god and laws via the US Constitution?
